BETHANY COOK

Salon Owner, Senior Stylist and Colourist

After graduating from the Francapelli Academy in Hawthorn, Victoria in 2006, I hit the hairdressing superhighway to make a name for myself as a foiling and colouring expert. With a genuine love of making people feel good, I enjoy nothing more than building strong relationships with clients and helping them maintain beautiful, healthy hair.

What thrills me the most about owning my own salon is creating an atmosphere that is not only professional, but also fun and relaxed. Somewhere clients can explore that latest trend, try something new or simply come in for a regular treatment and styling. I love seeing my clients leave with a huge smile on their face and a confidence they didn’t have when they walked in the door.

Outside of the salon I indulge in a spot of shopping, eating out, cocktails with friends and flipping through magazines – checking out the newest celebrity styles and thinking how I can put them into practice in my own salon. What can I say… hairdressing is in my blood!

ZOE COOK

Salon Owner, Senior Stylist and Colourist

I graduated from Pivot Point Hair Academy in Melbourne in 2006 and plunged headlong into hairdressing. It was something I always knew I wanted to do and I loved that I was lucky enough to be following my dream. And, in 2010 I was honoured to be awarded Semi Finalist in the Player Of The Year industry awards.

What I enjoy most about hairdressing is finding the best style and hair care solutions for my clients. I love it when a client comes in and isn’t quite sure what to do with their hair. I talk to them, learn about their lifestyle, how much maintenance they’re prepared to commit to and what styles they are drawn to – before coming up with a style and colour that works for them; something that looks fantastic but won’t take a team of stylists to achieve every morning.

What I love most about owning my own salon is just being a part of this wonderful industry – learning new things, meeting new people and making a positive impact on people’s lives.

Outside of the salon I cherish delicious food, coffee and wine, taking my dog Milly for a walk and checking out the latest fashions with friends.

KATHERINE DART

Senior Stylist and Colourist

I love hairdressing; it’s a great industry. It also enables me to engage in two of my favourite things, being friendly and being a perfectionist! The UK is my home – but after ten years I was ready for a change. I came to Melbourne in 2015. As soon as the plane landed at Tullamarine I was hooked! Melbourne’s a fantastic city. I love the culture, the coffee and yes, even the weather (try enduring an English winter!).

Salon Lelu is a great place to work. The space has a calm feel about it, most important when you’re having your hair done. Plus there’s always good music playing. I believe Salon Lelu’s success comes from a genuine passion for hair. We listen to our clients in order to give them exactly what they want – providing a quality service from the moment they walk through the door to the moment they leave. The team creates distinctive styles, keeping on trend while catering for all ages. And there’s plenty of good advice regarding take-home products and how to maintain that new do.

In my spare time I like to work out at the gym, stroll along the beach, go for my team at the MCG and drink endless cups of Melbourne coffee. Then there’s trying out new restaurants, exploring the city and its famous laneways… essentially enjoying as much of Melbourne as I possibly can!
